Cyrene and Empandeni High Schools Triumph in Nash Basketball Tournament

'Hoops and triumph! Cyrene and Empandeni High Schools claim top honors in the Nash Basketball Tournament.''

The Nash Basketball Tournament came to a thrilling conclusion, with Cyrene High School claiming the top spot in the under-17 boys' category and Empandeni High School reigning supreme in the girls' division. This marks Cyrene's third consecutive championship title in this age group, a testament to their dedication and excellence in Basketball.

The tournament, hosted by Mtshabezi High School's dedicated coach, Mr. Ncube, brought together some of the best young basketball talent from across the region. Mtshabezi High School's girls' team showed remarkable skill and sportsmanship, securing the first runner-up position and claiming silver medals, while Thekwane High School's boys' team took the second spot in the boys' category.

Cyrene High School's boys' team, led by Coach Weale, demonstrated their skills and determination to take home the championship title. Meanwhile, Empandeni High School's girls' team, guided by Coach S. V Ndlovu, showed impressive teamwork and strategy to emerge victorious. 

The tournament was officiated by a team of experienced referees, led by Ms. C. Chirinda and Mr. E. Gavi, who ensured fair play and maintained the highest level of professionalism throughout the tournament. 

The winning teams and selected players were congratulated by tournament organizers, coaches, and Mr. Ncube, who praised their hard work and dedication to the sport. The tournament's success was also attributed to the support of Mtshabezi High School's Headmaster, Mr. Moyo M, and the Head in Charge, Mr. Ndlovu M, who provided valuable resources and facilities to host the event.

''We are grateful to Mr. Ncube, the referees, and Mtshabezi High School, especially Headmaster Mr. Moyo M, for hosting a fantastic tournament,'' said Coach Weale. '' Our team's victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players.''

Coach Ndlovu added, ''We appreciate the support of our school and the tournament organizers. The tournament was well-organized, and we thank the referees for their professionalism.''

MAT SOUTH UNDER 14 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES IN THRILLING FASHION

Unleashing the next gen ballers!!! Thekwane High School played host to the highly anticipated Mat South Under 14 Basketball Tournament, which came to a thrilling conclusion over the weekend. The event saw 26 teams – 14 girls' teams and 12 boys' teams, from across the region to showcase their skills and teamwork. In the girl's division Empandeni High School's team, led by Coach S.V.
